What is National Roofing Week?

National Roofing Week is organized by NRCA and takes place every June. Its purpose is to

  • Increase awareness across the U.S. about the significance of roofs to every home and business
  • Share the good deeds of the industry
  • Promote the importance of hiring a professional roofing contractor, like Haynes Construction
  • Help homeowners make informed decisions about maintaining or replacing their home’s roof

A roof is one of the most critical components of a home or business' structure, yet it is often taken for granted until it falls into disrepair.

Waiting to fix roof damage often leads to costly repairs!

We at Haynes Construction and the NRCA encourage homeowners to understand the importance of a functioning roof and the essential role professional roofing contractors play in every community.

How Can You Get Involved In National Roofing Week?

Follow Haynes Construction on Facebook to get tips on how to take care of your home, spot roof damage, and learn when to get an inspection! We'll be sharing special tips all week and using the #NationalRoofingWeek tag. Here are a few things you can do right now to ensure your roof is in tip-top shape!

  1. Get Regular Roof Inspections

Roof inspections should be done at least twice per year and after every significant storm. This prevents small problems from becoming costly repairs. How long has it been since your last inspection? Our experts can help! Click here to contact us online today.

  1. Keep Gutters Clean

Clogged gutters can lead to water leaks and other damage. Keep your home's gutters clean and free of debris to allow water to flow freely. Also, be on the lookout for sagging gutters or damaged components and replace as needed.

  1. Check Your Attic

The inside of your roof is just as important as the outside! Proper ventilation and insulation are critical to the health of your roof system.

Without adequate ventilation, heat and moisture can cause sheathing and rafting to rot, roof materials to buckle and insulation to lose effectiveness. This will cause your overall roofing system to be ineffective. Without proper insulation, your home will lose heat/cooling and cause a rise in energy bills.

  1. Be on the Lookout For Damage

It's not uncommon for your roof to lose shingles or sustain damage after intense storms, especially those with hail. Even small damage, like one missing roof shingle, can make your home vulnerable to water leaks and rot. If you see any signs of roof damage, it's crucial to get an inspection ASAP!

  1. Get A Quality Roof Inspection

Always do your homework before hiring a roofing contractor! It's critical you choose a company that is licensed, insured, and experienced – all of which you'll find when you work with us!
